Omaha Beach SLSC Inc

About

Omaha Beach Surf Life Saving Club was first established in 1988 and we are located on Frazer Reserve, Omaha Beach, about 45 minutes north of Auckland.

The club’s primary purpose is to prevent drowning and injury through lifeguard services and education. We are a dynamic, non-profit organisation comprised of highly trained volunteers and supporters who are passionate about water safety, the beach environment and are willing to contribute their time and skills to the local community.

Omaha Beach volunteer lifeguards are on duty weekends from Labour Weekend through to Easter. While this is a key part of the clubs role to provide a dedicated lifeguard service and surf education we also maintain vital rescue equipment and frequently host surf sports events. In addition we have a growing junior surf division who are valued as future lifeguards and supporters of the club.

The Omaha beach community has grown significantly since the club was first established and the emphasis we have placed on family and community has resulted in a steady increase of families joining the club seeking to enjoy the experience of being part of an iconic NZ Surf Life Saving movement.

The public have access to 3.9km of beach via 22 individual walkways. During the peak season we can have more than 3000 people enjoying the beach on any given day. However our priorities are to those who use the beach within the flagged area. We support the Omaha beach Community by dedicating ourselves to providing a high level of lifeguarding services in a friendly and safe environment.
